For messages with sensitive information, it is recommended that you use ProtonMail (free) for anonymous and confidential emails. All ProtonMail-to-ProtonMail emails are fully encrypted (asymmetrically); servers are in Switzerland (so they fall under Swiss privacy laws). ProtonMail-to-other or other-to-ProtonMail emails are often compared to postcards that anyone can potentially read (where “other” is Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc).
